The owner, day-to-day manager and entrepreneur who started Classic Removals in 1999 is Mr Louie De Sousa. He personally experienced a typically traumatic household move, heard many similar stories, and set about filling the niche with a removal company interested in solutions, not problems. His vision was to create a removal company that consistently delivers a remarkable service at a competitive price. Being in the transport business at the time, he also had enough industry knowledge to make this happen.
Starting small, Classic Removals serviced only Durban and surrounds with one removal truck. By sticking to the central core of exceptional service coupled with competitive prices, the company grew steadily and quickly into a thriving business that boasts 28 trucks ranging from 1.5 ton vehicles to Interlink trucks. The service now covers the entire South African nation. Besides Durban we now have branches in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town keep the ethos of competitive pricing and efficiency running smoothly. The business operates 7 days a week, all over South Africa.
Despite the major growth and expansion continually going on in the company, the Classic Removals family is a hard-working and friendly team. The 120 person strong team are all permanent staff, with no casual workers. Before being offered a position at Classic removals, all staff are screened and checked for criminal records, and we ensure that all required official documentation is up-to-date and in order. Once accepted, Classic Removals staff undergo extensive training that enables them to offer and deliver the incredibly high level of friendly and professional service our customers have come to enjoy so much.
